Elias and Lizzie O’Neal were wed at Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church on July 3, 1976 in Florence, South Carolina before dozens of family and friends. Together, the couple trailblazed their way through college, moved to Texas and raised their family in Corsicana, where Elias works for the state of Texas and Lizzie recently retired as an educator with Corsicana Independent School District after 46 years of public service. The pair raised two children – Jamaal, a government communications professional who now resides in Richmond, Virginia; and Janelle Randle, a special populations counselor for a major community college system in Dallas, Texas and resides with her husband Gabriael Randle and their lone son, Maison, in Red Oak, Texas.
